Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
The Life Science industry has been in the grips of a reproducibility crisis for a number of years. Abcam is leading the way in addressing the problem with our range of recombinant monoclonal antibodies and knockout edited cell lines for gold-standard validation.
One factor contributing to the crisis is the use of antibodies that are not suitable. This can lead to misleading results and the use of incorrect data informing project assumptions and direction. To help address this challenge, we have introduced an application and species grid on our primary antibody datasheets to make it easy to simplify identification of the right antibody for your needs.

Flow cytometric analysis of mouse peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) labeling TIM 3 with ab245941 at 1/400 (Right panel) compared with a Rabbit monoclonal IgG (ab172730) (Left panel). Goat anti rabbit IgG (Alexa Fluor® 488, ab150077), at 1/2000 dilution was used as the secondary antibody.
Gated on viable cells.

Dot Blot - Anti-TIM 3 antibody [EPR22285-13] (ab245941) used at a 1/1000 dilution.
Lane 1: Mouse TIM 3 recombinant protein.
Lane 2: Human TIM 3 recombinant protein.
Exposure time of 3 minutes.
Blocking/Dilution buffer: 5% NFDM/TBST.
Secondary antibody Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG, (H+L), Peroxidase conjugated (ab97051) used at a 1/100,000 dilution.
Purified commercial recombinant proteins are diluted in 1X TBS containing 5% non-fat dried milk (NFDM) to the final concentrations of 5 ng/µl, 1 ng/µl, 0.1 ng/µl, 0.01 ng/µl.
Protein samples (1 µl each) were applied directly onto the nitrocellulose paper for dot blotting.
