Mouse Biglycan ELISA kit (ab275906) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of Mouse Biglycan protein in mouse serum, plasma and tissue extracts. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Mouse Biglycan with 193 pg/mL sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. Notes
Biglycan is a proteoglycan found in the extracellular matrix and plays a key role in the maintenance of bone, cartilage, and tendons. Along with its structural role, biglycan plays a crucial role in inflammatory signaling during stress and tissue injury. It is currently under investigation as a potential target for clinical treatment of muscular dystrophies and certain inflammatory diseases such as osteoarthritis. The antibodies for this kit were raised against a recombinant protein representing the majority of the c-terminal portion of the mature protein. This protein is homologous throughout Mammalia, so cross-reactivities are likely for samples from many species.

Interpolated concentrations of native Biglycan in mouse articular cartilage tissue extract based on a 75 µg/mL extract load.The concentrations of Biglycan were measured in duplicate and interpolated from the Biglycan standard curve and corrected for sample dilution. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean Biglycan concentration was determined to be 5,464.65 pg/mL.
