Specificity
This antibody is expected to recognise P55008-1 or isoform 3 (NP_001614.3) only. For WB, we recommend blocking in 3-5% milk, NOT BSA. Blocking in BSA gives high background. Primary incubation 1 hour at room temperature.

General notes
The Life Science industry has been in the grips of a reproducibility crisis for a number of years. Abcam is leading the way in addressing the problem with our range of recombinant monoclonal antibodies and knockout edited cell lines for gold-standard validation.
One factor contributing to the crisis is the use of antibodies that are not suitable. This can lead to misleading results and the use of incorrect data informing project assumptions and direction. To help address this challenge, we have introduced an application and species grid on our primary antibody datasheets to make it easy to simplify identification of the right antibody for your needs.

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence analysis of Caco-2 cells labeling Iba1 with ab48004 at 10µg/mL. Cells were fixed with paraformaldehyde and permeabilized with 0.15% Triton. An Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody at 2µg/mL was used as the secondary antibody. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Negative control: Unimmunized goat IgG (10µg/mL) followed by Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody (2µg/mL).

ab48004 at 1/300 staining human jejunum tissue sections by IHC-P. A heat mediated antigen retrieval step in citric acid buffer was performed and the tissue was blocked in BSA before incubation with the antibody for 2 hours. A biotinylated rabbit anti-goat antibody was used as the secondary.
