Biological activity
1000IU/1mg.
One Dnase unit results in an increase in absorbance at 260nm of 0.001/minute at 25°C when acting upon highly polymerized solution of DNA at pH-5. (Also, 0.005 Kunitz unit digests 1µg of lambda phage DNA in 10 minutes at 37°C in 50mM Tris, 1mM Mg2+, pH 7.8 in a 50ul reaction volume.)

Function
Among other functions, seems to be involved in cell death by apoptosis. Binds specifically to G-actin and blocks actin polymerization. -
Tissue specificity
Principally in tissues of the digestive system. Highest levels found in urine, but also relatively abundant in semen and saliva. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the DNase I family. -
Cellular localization
Secreted. Nucleus envelope. Secretory protein, stored in zymogen granules and found in the nuclear envelope. - Information by UniProt
