Biological activity
Assay conditions: Reaction done according to CD137[Biotinylated]:CD137L Inhibitor Screening Assay protocol. First, CD137L is coated 100 ng/well at 4°C. Next, CD137-biotin (0-13.5 ng/ul, 0.5 ng/ul) is incubated with CD137L on the plate for 2 hours at room temperature. Finally, the plate is treated with streptavidin-HRP for 1 hour at room temperature, followed by addition of an HRP substrate. Chemiluminescence produced was be measured using a chemiluminescence reader. Buffer is PBS + 0.1% BSA. Blocking buffer is Superblock + 0.05% Tween-20.

Function
Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF9. Induces the proliferation of activated peripheral blood T-cells. May have a role in activation-induced cell death (AICD). May play a role in cognate interactions between T-cells and B-cells/macrophages. -
Tissue specificity
Expressed in brain, placenta, lung, skeletal muscle and kidney. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family. -
Cellular localization
