Rat FLT1 ELISA Kit (VEGF-R1) (ab270206) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of FLT1 (VEGF-R1) protein in edta plasma and cell culture supernatant. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Rat FLT1 (VEGF-R1) with 0.11 ng/ml sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. Fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 (FLT1), also known as vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 (VEGFR1), is a Tyrosine kinase encoded by the gene Flt1. VEGFR1 is expressed as a 1316 amino acid type 1 membrane glycoprotein by vascular endothelial cells, placental trophoblasts, and peripheral blood monocytes. VEGFR1 acts as cell-surface receptor for VEGFR-A, VEGFR-B, and placental growth factor (PGF) and may have an essential role in the development of embryonic vasculature by inhibiting excessive proliferation of endothelial cells.

Receptor for VEGF, VEGFB and PGF. Has a tyrosine-protein kinase activity. The VEGF-kinase ligand/receptor signaling system plays a key role in vascular development and regulation of vascular permeability. Isoform SFlt1 may have an inhibitory role in angiogenesis. -
Tissue specificity
Mostly in normal lung, but also in placenta, liver, kidney, heart and brain tissues. Specifically expressed in most of the vascular endothelial cells, and also expressed in peripheral blood monocytes. Isoform sFlt1 is strongly expressed in placenta. -

The FLT1 standard curve was prepared as described in Section 10. Raw data values are shown in the table. Background-subtracted data values (mean +/- SD) are graphed.

The concentrations of FLT1 were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the target standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows: Lung supernatant (100%). The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean target concentration was determined to be 3.2 ng/mL in lung cell supernatant.
