Biological description
Highly selective, potent, CDK4/6 inhibitor (IC50 = 11 nM/16 nM in cell-free assays). No activity against CDK1/2/5, EGFR, FGFR, PDGFR, InsR, etc. Phase 3. Displays anti-cancer chemotherapeutic and nephroprotective activities.
Induces G0/G1 phase cell cycle arrest in renal proximal tubule cells, protecting animals against nephrotoxicity and inflammation induced by other chemotherapeutics. Induces cell cycle arrest in cellular and animal models of glioma, increasing overall survival times. Inhibits cell proliferation and induces G1 phase cell cycle arrest and tumor regression in animal models of retinoblastoma.
