Product overview
Human SIGLEC6 ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative determination of SIGLEC6 in cell culture supernatants, plasma and serum samples.
Δ Note: Human SIGLEC6 concentration is low in normal serum/plasma and may not be detectable in this assay.
This assay employs an antibody specific for human SIGLEC6 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and SIGLEC6 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-human SIGLEC6 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of SIGLEC6 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.
This ELISA kit shows no cross-reactivity with the following cytokines tested: Human Coagulation Factor X, CHMP2B, Contactin-3, Cortactin, CrkL, Cyr61/CCN1, DAPP1, Dynactin Subunit 1/DCTN1, DFF45/ICAD, DRAK1, GRAP2, GRK5, Hydroxyacid Oxidase1/HAO-1, LRIG1, MMP-12, NCK1, Nectin-2/CD112, Nesfatin1/Nucleobindin-2, Neurogranin, Nrf2, NUDT5, Nucleoporin NUP85, PAR1, Pancreatic Polypeptide/PP, Peroxiredoxin 2, PSMA1, PU.1/Spi-1, RalA, RCOR1/CoREST, Serpin B8, SH2D1A, SHP-1, SorCS3, THAP11, ULBP4/RAET1E, UNC5H3, VAMP-1, VAMP-2, PBEF/Visfatin.

Function
Putative adhesion molecule that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells. Binds to alpha-2,6-linked sialic acid. The sialic acid recognition site may be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface. -
Tissue specificity
Expressed at high levels in placenta (cyto- and syncytiotrophoblastic cells) and at lower levels in spleen, peripheral blood leukocytes (predominantly B-cells) and small intestine. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. SIGLEC (sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin) family.
Contains 2 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains.
Contains 1 Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. -
Domain
Contains 1 copy of a cytoplasmic motif that is referred to as the immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitor motif (ITIM). This motif is involved in modulation of cellular responses. The phosphorylated ITIM motif can bind the SH2 domain of several SH2-containing phosphatases. -
Cellular localization
