Product overview
Abcam's IL-13 Receptor alpha 2 Human ELISA Kit (ab193704) is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human IL-13 Receptor alpha 2 in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants.
This assay employs an antibody specific for human IL-13 Receptor alpha 2 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and the immobilized antibody captures IL-13 Receptor alpha 2 present in the samples. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-human IL-13 Receptor alpha 2 antibody is added. After washing away any unbound biotinylated antibody, an HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. After incubation, the wells are again washed, followed by the addition of a TMB substrate solution to the wells. Color will develop in proportion to the amount of IL-13 Receptor alpha 2 bound in each well. Addition of the Stop Solution will change the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Function
Binds as a monomer with high affinity to interleukin-13 (IL13), but not to interleukin-4 (IL4). -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Type 5 subfamily.
Contains 1 fibronectin type-III domain. -
Domain
The WSXWS motif appears to be necessary for proper protein folding and thereby efficient intracellular transport and cell-surface receptor binding.
The box 1 motif is required for JAK interaction and/or activation. -
