Lipid peroxidation and apoptosis inducer. Increases triacylglycerol synthesis by inhibiting palmitate oxidation pathway and decreases triacylglycerol secretion. Inhibits oxidation and phosphorylation in liver mitochondria. Hepatotoxic agent. Active in vitro and in vivo. -
