Broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against Gram-positive, Gram-negative and anaerobic bacteria. Effective against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase, cell division and causes double-strand breaks in the bacterial chromosome. Active in vivo. -
