Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.
The Life Science industry has been in the grips of a reproducibility crisis for a number of years. Abcam is leading the way in addressing the problem with our range of recombinant monoclonal antibodies and knockout edited cell lines for gold-standard validation.
One factor contributing to the crisis is the use of antibodies that are not suitable. This can lead to misleading results and the use of incorrect data informing project assumptions and direction. To help address this challenge, we have introduced an application and species grid on our primary antibody datasheets to make it easy to simplify identification of the right antibody for your needs.

Lane 1 : Mouse brain tissue lysate
Lane 2 : Mouse heart tissue lysate
Lane 3 : Mouse liver tissue lysate
Lane 4 : Rat brain tissue lysate
Lane 5 : Rat heart tissue lysate
Lane 6 : Rat liver tissue lysate

Secondary
All lanes : Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (HRP) (ab97051) at 1/100000 dilution
Developed using the ECL technique.
Predicted band size: 37 kDa
Observed band size: 34-36 kDa why is the actual band size different from the predicted?
Exposure time: 41 secondsBlocking/Dilution buffer and concentration: 5% NFDM/TBST
The expression profile observed is consistent with the literature; heart tissue is expected to be negative for serine racemase (PMID: 10557334).

Serine racemase was immunoprecipitated from 0.35 mg of mouse brain tissue lysate with ab182217 at 1/30 dilution. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab182217 at 1/1000 dilution. VeriBlot for IP Detection Reagent (HRP) (ab131366) was used for detection at 1/1000 dilution.
Lane 1: Mouse brain tissue lysate 10 µg (Input).
Lane 2: ab182217 IP in mouse brain tissue lysate.
Lane 3: Rabbit monoclonal IgG (ab172730) instead of ab182217 in mouse brain tissue lysate.
Blocking/Dilution buffer and concentration: 5% NFDM/TBST.
Exposure time: 1 second.
