Relevance
Olfactory marker protein (OMP) is an abundant, 19kDa, cytosolic protein that is almost exclusively expressed in mature, functioning, olfactory neurons but not in the neural precursor basal cells. The OMP gene structure and protein sequence are highly conserved between mouse, rat and human. Its tissue specific expression in the receptor cells together with the results of the mouse knockout studies show that OMP represents a novel modulatory component of the odor detection/signal transduction cascade. -

Secondary
Goat polyclonal Secondary Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (HRP), pre-adsorbed at 1/5000 dilution
Developed using the ECL technique.
Performed under reducing conditions.
Predicted band size: 18 kDa
Observed band size: 20 kDa why is the actual band size different from the predicted?
Additional bands at: 50 kDa, 80 kDa. We are unsure as to the identity of these extra bands.
