Biological description
Broad spectrum antiepileptic with multiple mechanisms of action. Blocks voltage-sensitive Na+ and T-type Ca2+ channels and stimulates BKCa channels. Modulates GABA, glutamate, cholinergic and monoamine neurotransmission. Exhibits free-radical scavenging properties.
