Biological description
Potent cholinesterase inhibitor (IC50 = 125 nM). Also inhibits butyryl cholinesterase. Cognition enhancer in vivo. Selectively blocks potassium channels in the central nervous system. Increases release of acetylcholine. Prolongs the action potential of presynaptic cholinergic neurons.
