Biological activity
Mouse CD80 protein activity was performed in an inhibitor screening assay using mouse CTLA4 coated on a 96-well plate at 100 ng/well, 4°C, overnight. Various amounts of ab271374 (0-50 ng) was incubated for 2 hours at room temperature, followed by streptavidin-HRP for 1 hour at room temperature. Chemiluminescence produced by HRP substrate was measured using a chemiluminescence reader.

Function
Involved in the costimulatory signal essential for T-lymphocyte activation. T-cell proliferation and cytokine production is induced by the binding of CD28 or CTLA-4 to this receptor. -
Tissue specificity
Expressed on activated B-cells, macrophages and dendritic cells. -
Sequence similarities
Contains 1 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain.
Contains 1 Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. -
