Product overview
Human DC-SIGNR ELISA Kit (ab277435) is an in-vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human DC-SIGNR in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants.
This assay employs an antibody specific for Human DC-SIGNR coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and Human DC-SIGNR present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed, and biotinylated anti-Human DC-SIGNR antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human DC-SIGNR bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Function
Probable pathogen-recognition receptor involved in peripheral immune surveillance in liver. May mediate the endocytosis of pathogens which are subsequently degraded in lysosomal compartments. Probably recognizes in a calcium-dependent manner high mannose N-linked oligosaccharides in a variety of pathogen antigens, including HIV-1 gp120, HIV-2 gp120, SIV gp120, ebolavirus glycoproteins, HCV E2, and human SARS coronavirus protein S. Is a receptor for ICAM3, probably by binding to mannose-like carbohydrates. Is presumably a coreceptor for the SARS coronavirus. -
Tissue specificity
Predominantly highly expressed in liver sinusoidal endothelial cells and in lymph node. Found in placental endothelium but not in macrophages. Expressed in type II alveolar cells and lung endothelial cells. -
Sequence similarities
Contains 1 C-type lectin domain. -
Domain
The tandem repeat domain, also called neck domain, mediates oligomerization. -
Cellular localization
Secreted and Cell membrane. - Information by UniProt
