Heat shock factor 1 (HSF1) inhibitor -
Biological description
Heat shock factor 1 (HSF1) inhibitor (IC50 = 1.2 μM). Down-regulates HSP70 and HSP27 expression. Inhibits cancer cell proliferation. Promotes cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase. Induces apoptosis. Does not inhibit heat shock-induced HSF1 recruitment to HSP70 promotor. Does not inhibit HSF1 phosphorylation at Ser 230. Inhibits tumor growth in mouse xenograft models. Promotes Mcl-1 degradation via and HSF1-independent pathway.
