Product overview
Human PAR1/Thrombin Receptor ELISA Kit (ab277440) is an in-vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human PAR1/Thrombin Receptor in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants.
This assay employs an antibody specific for Human PAR1/Thrombin Receptor coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and Human PAR1/Thrombin Receptor present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed, and biotinylated anti-Human PAR1/Thrombin Receptor antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human PAR1/Thrombin Receptor bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Function
High affinity receptor for activated thrombin coupled to G proteins that stimulate phosphoinositide hydrolysis. May play a role in platelets activation and in vascular development. -
Tissue specificity
Platelets and vascular endothelial cells. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. -
Post-translational
modificationsA proteolytic cleavage generates a new N-terminus that functions as a tethered ligand.
Phosphorylated; probably mediating desensitization prior to the uncoupling and internalization of the receptor. -
Cellular localization
Cell membrane. - Information by UniProt
