Product overview
Human IL-36 gamma ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative determination of IL-36 gamma in cell culture supernatants, plasma and serum samples.
This assay employs an antibody specific for human IL-36 gamma coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and IL-36 gamma present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-human IL-36 gamma antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-36 gamma bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.
This ELISA kit shows no cross-reactivity with the following cytokines tested: Human IL-1F1 (IL-1 alpha), IL-1F2 (IL-1 beta), IL-1F3 (IL-1ra), IL-1F4 (IL-18), IL-1F5 (IL-36ra), IL-1F6 (IL-36 alpha), IL-1F7 (IL-37), IL-1F8 (IL-36 beta), IL-1F10 (IL-38), IL-1F11 (IL-33).

Function
Function as an agonist of NF-kappa B activation through the orphan IL-1-receptor-related protein 2. Could constitute part of an independent signaling system analogous to interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1A), beta (IL-1B) receptor agonist and interleukin-1 receptor type I (IL-1R1), that is present in epithelial barriers and takes part in local inflammatory response. -
Tissue specificity
Highly expressed in tissues containing epithelial cells: skin, lung, stomach and esophagus. In skin is expressed only in keratinocytes but not in fibroblasts, endothelial cells or melanocytes. Up-regulated in lesional psoriasis skin. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the IL-1 family. -
Cellular localization
Secreted. - Information by UniProt
