Background
The direct isolation and propagation of a continuous culture of human lymphoblasts (CCRF-CEM) (also called CEM) from the peripheral blood of a patient with acute lymphoblastic leukemia has permitted extensive sequential cytogenetic analysis of these cells during continuous propagation in culture.
