Product overview
anti-Filgrastim ELISA Kit (Neupogen®) (ab237668) is a highly specific and sensitive kit designed for the in vitro determination of antibody against Filgrastim in biological matrices such as human serum and plasma. The density of color is proportional to the amount of human antibody against Filgrastim captured from the samples.
Filgrastim (Neupogen®) is a recombinant, non-pegylated human granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) analogue. It binds to the GCSF receptor and stimulates the production of neutrophils in the bone marrow. As a G-CSF analog, it controls proliferation of committed progenitor cells and influences their maturation into mature neutrophils. Filgrastim is used in patients with acute myeloid leukemia receiving induction or consolidation chemotherapy. It is also used in cancer patients receiving bone marrow transplant. However, some patients develop unwanted immunogenicity, which leads to production of anti-drug-antibodies (ADAs) inactivating the therapeutic effects of the treatment and, in rare cases, inducing adverse effects.

Function
Granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factors are cytokines that act in hematopoiesis by controlling the production, differentiation, and function of 2 related white cell populations of the blood, the granulocytes and the monocytes-macrophages. This CSF induces granulocytes. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the IL-6 superfamily. -
Post-translational
modificationsO-glycan consists of Gal-GalNAc disaccharide which can be modified with up to two sialic acid residues (done in recombinantly expressed G-CSF from CHO cells). -
Cellular localization
Secreted. - Information by UniProt
