Biological description
Anthraquinone dye used to determine, quantitatively by colorimetry, the presence of calcific deposition by cells of an osteogenic lineage. Has also been used as a histochemical stain for calcium in cells of non-osteogenic lineage and as a colorimetric pH indicator.

Handling
Wherever possible, you should prepare and use solutions on the same day.
