A gastrointestinal antispasmotic. Various pharmacological effects. Ca2+ and K+ channel modulator. Peripheral μ, κ and δ opioid receptor agonist. Inhibits Ca2+ currents (IC50 values are 7 and 36 μM at holding potentials of -40 and -60 mV respectively). Reduces IKv amplitude (IC50 = 8 μM). Orally active. -

Handling
