Product overview
Mouse OB Cadherin ELISA Kit (ab208346) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of OB Cadherin protein in cell culture extracts, cell culture supernatant, serum, tissue extracts, urine, and plasma. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Mouse OB Cadherin with 7 pg/ml sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
- Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
- High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
- Fully validated in biological samples
- 96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells stripsA 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.

Notes
OB Cadherin (also known as Cadherin-11) is a member of the Cadherin family of calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins. OB Cadherin is a single-pass transmembrane protein on the plasma membrane. The extracellular portion contains 5 cadherin domains that bind calcium and form homodimeric interactions.

Function
Cadherins are calcium dependent cell adhesion proteins. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types. -
Tissue specificity
Expressed mainly in brain but also found in other tissues. Expressed in neuroblasts. -
Involvement in disease
Note=A chromosomal aberration involving CDH11 is a common genetic feature of aneurysmal bone cyst, a benign osseous neoplasm. Translocation t(16;17)(q22;p13) with USP6. The translocation generates a fusion gene in which the strong CDH11 promoter is fused to the entire USP6 coding sequence, resulting in USP6 transcriptional up-regulation. -

SimpleStep ELISA technology allows the formation of the antibody-antigen complex in one single step, reducing assay time to 90 minutes. Add samples or standards and antibody mix to wells all at once, incubate, wash, and add your final substrate. See protocol for a detailed step-by-step guide.

Background-subtracted data values (mean +/- SD) are graphed.

The concentrations of OB Cadherin were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the OB Cadherin standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. 1X diluted samples are as follows: serum 25%, plasma (citrate) 25%, and plasma (EDTA) 25%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean OB Cadherin concentration was determined to be 3,771 pg/mL in serum, 827 pg/mL in plasma (citrate) and 1,172 pg/mL in plasma (EDTA).

The concentrations of OB Cadherin were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the OB Cadherin standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. 1X diluted samples are as follows: plasma (heparin) 25%, and urine 20%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean OB Cadherin concentration was determined to be 1,343 pg/mL in plasma (heparin) and 1,000 pg/mL in urine.
