Product overview
Mouse IL-13R alpha 2 ELISA kit (ab275894) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of Mouse IL-13R alpha 2 protein in mouse serum, plasma - citrate, plasma - heparin, plasma - edta, cell culture media. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Mouse IL-13R alpha 2 with 26.31 pg/mL sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
-Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
-High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
-Fully validated in biological samples
-96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips
A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.

Notes
IL-13R alpha 2 is a cytokine receptor involved in Th2 responses during parasitic infections and allergic asthma. IL-13R alpha 2 is released into bronchoalveolar lavage fluid from house dust mite allergen. It is also upregulated during heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and in some forms of cancer.

Research areas
-
Function
Binds as a monomer with high affinity to interleukin-13 (IL13), but not to interleukin-4 (IL4). -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Type 5 subfamily.
Contains 1 fibronectin type-III domain. -
Domain
The WSXWS motif appears to be necessary for proper protein folding and thereby efficient intracellular transport and cell-surface receptor binding.
The box 1 motif is required for JAK interaction and/or activation. -

SimpleStep ELISA technology allows the formation of the antibody-antigen complex in one single step, reducing assay time to 90 minutes. Add samples or standards and antibody mix to wells all at once, incubate, wash, and add your final substrate. See protocol for a detailed step-by-step guide.

Standard Curve comparison between Mouse IL-13R alpha 2 SimpleStep ELISA kit and traditional ELISA kit from leading competitor. SimpleStep ELISA kit shows increased sensitivity.
-
The IL-13R alpha 2 standard curve was prepared as described in Section 10. Raw data values are shown in the table. Background-subtracted data values (mean +/- SD) are graphed.
-
The concentrations of IL-13R alpha 2 were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the target standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows: serum 10%, plasma (citrate) 20%, plasma (heparin) 10%, and plasma (EDTA) 20%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean target concentration was determined to be 29.01 ng/ml in serum, 12.39 ng/ml in plasma (citrate), 23.70 ng/ml in plasma (heparin), and 18.01 ng/ml plasma (EDTA).
-
Interpolated concentrations of native IL-13R alpha 2 in mouse spleen tissue homogenate extract samples based on a 500 µg/mL extract load.
The concentrations of IL-13R alpha 2 were measured in duplicate and interpolated from the IL-13R alpha 2 standard curve and corrected for sample dilution. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean IL-13R alpha 2 concentration was determined to be 241.29 pg/mL in mouse spleen tissue homogenate extract.
