Product overview
Mouse CD105 ELISA Kit (ab240677) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of CD105 protein in cell culture supernatant, cit plasma, edta plasma, serum, tissue extracts, and urine. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Mouse CD105 with 26.1 pg/ml sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
- Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
- High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
- Fully validated in biological samples
- 96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells stripsA 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.

Function
Major glycoprotein of vascular endothelium. May play a critical role in the binding of endothelial cells to integrins and/or other RGD receptors. -
Tissue specificity
Endoglin is restricted to endothelial cells in all tissues except bone marrow. -
Involvement in disease
Defects in ENG are the cause of hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia type 1 (HHT1) [MIM:187300, 108010]; also known as Osler-Rendu-Weber syndrome 1 (ORW1). HHT1 is an autosomal dominant multisystemic vascular dysplasia, characterized by recurrent epistaxis, muco-cutaneous telangiectases, gastro-intestinal hemorrhage, and pulmonary (PAVM), cerebral (CAVM) and hepatic arteriovenous malformations; all secondary manifestations of the underlying vascular dysplasia. Although the first symptom of HHT1 in children is generally nose bleed, there is an important clinical heterogeneity. -

SimpleStep ELISA technology allows the formation of the antibody-antigen complex in one single step, reducing assay time to 90 minutes. Add samples or standards and antibody mix to wells all at once, incubate, wash, and add your final substrate. See protocol for a detailed step-by-step guide.

Standard Curve comparison between mouse Endoglin SimpleStep ELISA kit and traditional ELISA kit from leading competitor. SimpleStep ELISA kit shows increased sensitivity.
-
The Endoglin standard curve was prepared as described in Section 10. Raw data values are shown in the table. Background-subtracted data values (mean +/- SD) are graphed.

The concentrations of Endoglin were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the Endoglin standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows: serum 12.5%, plasma (citrate) 25%, and plasma (EDTA) 25%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean Endoglin concentration was determined to be 16.17 ng/mL in neat serum, 10.98 ng/mL in neat plasma (citrate), and 11.89 ng/mL in plasma (EDTA).

The concentrations of Endoglin were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the Endoglin standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows: urine 50%, and spleen tissue supernatant 50%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean Endoglin concentration was determined to be 1.22 ng/mL in neat urine and 3.39 ng/mL in neat spleen tissue supernatant.

The concentrations of Endoglin were measured in duplicate and interpolated from the Endoglin standard curve and corrected for sample dilution. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean Endoglin concentration was determined to be 3.00 ng/mL in mouse spleen tissue extract.
