Biological description
Anti-inflammatory agent. Active metabolite of pentoxifylline and a potent inhibitor of phosphatidic acid formation (IC50 = 0.6 mM). Decreases lipid peroxidation in vitro and in vivo. Suppresses proinflammatory cytokine expression. Can ameliorate glucose intolerance in vivo. -
