Product overview
Human IL36RN ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative determination of IL36RN in cell culture supernatants, plasma and serum samples.
Δ Note: Human IL36RN concentration is low in normal serum/plasma and may not be detectable in this assay.
This assay employs an antibody specific for human IL36RN coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and IL36RN present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-human IL36RN antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL36RN bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.
This ELISA kit shows no cross-reactivity with the following cytokines tested: Human IL-1 alpha (IL-1 F1), IL-1 beta (IL-1 F2), IL-1 RA (IL-1 F3), IL-18 (IL-1 F4), IL-36 alpha (IL-1 F6), IL-37 (IL-1 F7), IL-36 beta (IL-1 F8), IL-36 gamma (IL-1 F9), IL-38 (IL-1 F10), IL-33 (IL-1 F11).

Function
Is a highly and a specific antagonist of the IL-1 receptor-related protein 2-mediated response to interleukin 1 family member 9 (IL1F9). Could constitute part of an independent signaling system analogous to interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1A), beta (IL-1B) receptor agonist and interleukin-1 receptor type I (IL-1R1), that is present in epithelial barriers and takes part in local inflammatory response. -
Tissue specificity
Predominantly expressed in keratinocytes but not in fibroblasts, endothelial cells or melanocytes. Detected also in the spleen, brain leukocyte and macrophage cell types. Increased in lesional psoriasis skin. -
Involvement in disease
Defects in IL36RN are the cause of psoriasis generalized pustular (PSORP) [MIM:614204]. PSORP is a life-threatening disease defined by repeated flares of sudden onset consisting of diffuse erythematous skin eruption characterized by rapid coverage with pustules, high-grade fever, asthenia, marked leukocytosis, and elevated serum levels of C-reactive protein. -
