Biological description
Broad spectrum tetracycline derivative with similar antimicrobial activity. Blocks binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the mRNA-ribosome complex, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis. Potent MMP (matrix metalloproteinase) inhibitor. Inhibits collagenase activity. Antiprotozoal properties.
