Somatostatin antagonist with various biological activities. Blocks the effect of somatostatin on β-adrenergic function and CRF-induced suppression of gastric empyting, ACh release and growth hormone, insulin, and glucagon release. May act as potent antiproliferative agonist in some cell lines.
