Product overview
Bovine FGF1 ELISA kit is an in vitro enzyme linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of bovine FGF1 in serum (bovine FGF1 concentration is low in normal serum/plasma, and may not be detectable in this assay), plasma and cell culture supernatants.
This assay employs an antibody specific for bovine FGF1 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and FGF1 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-bovine FGF1 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of FGF1 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Function
The heparin-binding fibroblast growth factors play important roles in the regulation of cell survival, cell division, angiogenesis, cell differentiation and cell migration. They are potent mitogens in vitro. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the heparin-binding growth factors family. -
Cellular localization
Secreted. Cytoplasm. Cytoplasm > cell cortex. Lacks a cleavable signal sequence. Within the cytoplasm, it is transported to the cell membrane and then secreted by a non-classical pathway that requires Cu(2+) ions and S100A13. Secreted in a complex with SYT1. - Information by UniProt
