Predicted band size: 34 kDa
Observed band size: 80 kDa why is the actual band size different from the predicted?
A fusion protein with 6xhis-NusA, which adds 470 amino acids (around 55-60 kDa to the protein) was used in this western blot. The predicted SGTA protein is around 34 kDa. Therefore, the higher than expected band size was obtained.
