General notes
Reproducibility is key to advancing scientific discovery and accelerating scientists’ next breakthrough.
Abcam is leading the way with our range of recombinant antibodies, knockout-validated antibodies and knockout cell lines, all of which support improved reproducibility.
We are also planning to innovate the way in which we present recommended applications and species on our product datasheets, so that only applications & species that have been tested in our own labs, our suppliers or by selected trusted collaborators are covered by our Abpromise™ guarantee.
In preparation for this, we have started to update the applications & species that this product is Abpromise guaranteed for.
We are also updating the applications & species that this product has been “predicted to work with,” however this information is not covered by our Abpromise guarantee.
Applications & species from publications and Abreviews that have not been tested in our own labs or in those of our suppliers are not covered by the Abpromise guarantee.

Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections) - Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Spike Glycoprotein S1 antibody (ab275759) Courtesy of Hallgeir Rui
Formaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded human lung tissue from a COVID-19 patient was stained for SARS-CoV-2 Spike Glycoprotein S1 using ab275759 at 1 μg/mL, followed by a Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG conjugate at 1/250 dilution. Counter stained with hematoxylin. Primary incubation overnight at 4°C.
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval with citrate buffer, pH 6.0. Tissue was blocked with 10% serum for 1 hour at room temperature.
40X magnification.

Immunofluorescent analysis of 4% paraformaldehyde-fixed Spike transfected HEK-293 (Human epithelial cell line from embryonic kidney) cells labelling SARS-CoV-2 Spike Glycoprotein S1 with ab275759 at 5 µg/mL, followed by goat anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody at 1/500 dilution (Green). The nuclear counter stain was DAPI (Blue).
