General notes
Vector carries hygromycin B resistance gene for plant selection, streptomycin resistance for selection in bacteria and the GusPlus™ reporter gene.
The pCambia vector backbone is derived from the pPZP vectors. The pCambia1105.1R vector offers:
-high copy number in E.coli for high DNA yields
-pVS1 replicon for high stability in Agrobacterium
-small size
-restriction sites for modular plasmid modifications and small but adequate polylinkers for introducing DNA of interest
-bacterial selection with streptomycin
-plant selection with hygromycin BPlant selection genes in the pCambia vectors are driven by a double-enhancer version of the CaMV35S promoter and terminated by the CaMV35S polyA signal. Reporter genes feature a hexa-Histidine tag at the C-terminus to enable simple purification on immobilized metal affinity chromatography resins. The GusPlus™ gene contains an intron from the castor bean catalase gene to prevent expression by bacteria and ensure detection of plant-expressed glucuronidase activity. Same as pCambia1105.1 except that the 322bp PvuII polylinker fragment has been replaced by a 403bp polylinker fragment from pCR2.1
