    Mouse YKL-40 / CHI3L1 ELISA Kit (ab238262) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of YKL-40 / CHI3L1 protein in cell culture supernatant, cit plasma, edta plasma, hep plasma, and serum. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Mouse YKL-40 / CHI3L1 with 3.17 pg/ml sensitivity.


    SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time.     Carbohydrate-binding lectin with a preference for chitin. May play a role in defense against pathogens, or in tissue remodeling. May play an important role in the capacity of cells to respond to and cope with changes in their environment.

    A genetic variation in CHI3L1 is associated with susceptibility to asthma-related traits type 7 (ASRT7) [MIM:611960]. Asthma-related traits include clinical symptoms of asthma, such as coughing, wheezing and dyspnea, bronchial hyperresponsiveness (BHR) as assessed by methacholine challenge test, serum IgE levels, atopy, and atopic dermatitis.

      The CHI3L1 standard curve was prepared as described in Section 10. Raw data values are shown in the table. Background-subtracted data values (mean +/- SD) are graphed.

      The concentrations of CHI3L1 were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the CHI3L1 standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows: serum 5%, plasma (citrate) 5%, plasma (EDTA) 5% and plasma (heparin) 5%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean CHI3L1 concentration was determined to be 58.00 ng/mL in serum, 28.30 ng/mL in plasma (citrate), 52.70 pg/mL in plasma (EDTA), and 82.22 ng/mL in plasma (Heparin).

      The concentrations of CHI3L1 were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the CHI3L1 standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows: mouse heart supernatant 50%, mouse liver supernatant 50%, mouse lung supernatant 2.5%, and mouse heart supernatant 12.5%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean CHI3L1 concentration was determined to be 6.31 ng/mL in mouse heart supernatant, 1.65 ng/mL in mouse liver supernatant), 157.17 pg/mL in mouse lung supernatant, and 23.91 ng/mL in mouse spleen supernatant.
