Product overview
Human SLAM7/CS1 ELISA Kit (ab277429) is an in-vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human SLAM7/CS1 in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants.
This assay employs an antibody specific for Human SLAM7/CS1 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and Human SLAM7/CS1 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed, and biotinylated anti-Human SLAM7/CS1 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human SLAM7/CS1 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Relevance
SLAMF7 contains one Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. Isoform 1 mediates NK cell activation through a SAP-independent extracellular signal-regulated ERK-mediated pathway. It may play a role in lymphocyte adhesion. Isoform 3 does not mediate any activation. SAP can bind the cytoplasmic tail of isoform 1 when phosphorylated in the presence of Fyn (in vitro). SLAMF7 is expressed in spleen, lymph node, peripheral blood leukocytes, bone marrow, small intestine, stomach, appendix, lung and trachea. Expression was detected in NK cells, activated B-cells, NK-cell line but not in promyelocytic, B-, or T-cell lines. The isoform 3 is expressed at much lower level than isoform 1. There are three named isoforms. -
