Product overview
Horse IL-2 ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative determination of Equine IL-2 in cell culture supernatants, plasma and serum samples.
ΔNote: (Equine IL-2 concentration is low in normal serum/plasma and may not be detectable in this assay
This assay employs an antibody specific for IL-2 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and IL-2 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Equine IL-2 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-2 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.
This kit detects equine IL-2.

Function
Produced by T-cells in response to antigenic or mitogenic stimulation, this protein is required for T-cell proliferation and other activities crucial to regulation of the immune response. Can stimulate B-cells, monocytes, lymphokine-activated killer cells, natural killer cells, and glioma cells. -
