Target

  • Function

    DNA-binding component of the FA core complex involved in DNA damage repair and genome maintenance. Recruited to forks stalled by DNA interstrand cross-links, and required for cellular resistance to such lesions. Component of the heterotetrameric CENP-T-W-S-X complex that binds and supercoils DNA, and plays an important role in kinetochore assembly. Component of the APITD1/CENPS complex that is essential for the stable assembly of the outer kinetochore. Plays an important role in mitotic progression and chromosome segregation.

      ab104236 detects a band at 11 kDa. While this differs to its predicted molecular weight of 9 kDa, the expression profile observed is consistent with what has been described in the literature PMID:20347429. This blot was produced using a 4-12% Bis-tris gel under the MES buffer system. The gel was run at 200V for 35 minutes before being transferred onto a Nitrocellulose membrane at 30V for 70 minutes. The membrane was then blocked for an hour using 5% Bovine Serum Albumin before being incubated with ab104236 overnight at 4°C. Antibody binding was detected using an anti-rabbit antibody conjugated to HRP, and visualised using ECL development solution.
